About

About me

Hello, my name is Dr. Sonali Patel (she/ her/ hers).

I am a graduate of Columbia University's Program of Physical Therapy. During this time I started my path to learning more about the Pelvic Health specialty through additional training from the Herman and Wallace Institute. I have since completed further training through The Institute of Physical Art, Pelvic Guru, and the McKenzie Institute.

My education has allowed me to treat hundreds with pelvic floor dysfunction as a Senior Physical Therapist in NYC at a renowned Pelvic Health practice. I am co-author of an ISSVD textbook on Lichens Sclerosis, have led community education programs, served on the Mount Sinai continuing education speaker board, mentored fellow therapists, and blogged to raise awareness about pelvic health.

As a woman, it’s empowering to serve other women in this way. I’m excited to bring holistic, evidence-based care to my hometown of Princeton, NJ.

About Us

At Spring Physical Therapy we tailor each session to you.

Listening.

During our hour-long sessions, you will get the attention and care that you deserve. At your first visit, we will take a thorough history including a reveiw of your past medical history, prior treatments, level of activity, and ultimately  will discuss your goals for therapy.

Educating.

We want you to understand your dysfunction. Together, we will review basic anatomy and concepts to help you better understand the root of your dysfunction.

Empowering.

During your session, we will discuss ways to adjust lifestyle and activity or teach you new postures, exercises, and self manual therapies to help you on your road to recovery. Having the tools and knowledge on how to help yourself is key and at Spring PT we will make this a priority.

I had a great experience at Beyond Basics! I was nervous about going to physical therapy, but Sonali was so professional and nice, which made me feel a lot more comfortable. Sonali fully solved my pelvic floor issues in only a few sessions. She gave me stretches to do on my own time to move my progress along and also to ensure I don't lose any progress I've made. I can't recommend Beyond Basics enough!
