Hello, my name is Dr. Sonali Patel, PT, DPT, LPF-CT (she/ her/ hers)
I am a graduate of Columbia University's Program of Physical Therapy. During this time I started my path to learning more about the Pelvic Health specialty through additional training from the Herman and Wallace Institute. I have since completed further training through The Institute of Physical Art, Pelvic Guru, The Integrative Women's Health Institute, and the McKenzie Institute.
My education has allowed me to treat hundreds with pelvic floor dysfunction as a Senior Physical Therapist in NYC at a renowned Pelvic Health practice. I am co-author of an ISSVD textbook on Lichens Sclerosis, have led community education programs, served on the Mount Sinai continuing education speaker board, mentored fellow therapists, and blogged to raise awareness about pelvic health.
As a woman, it’s empowering to serve other women in this way. I’m excited to bring holistic, evidence-based care to my hometown of Princeton, NJ.

During our hour-long sessions, you will get the attention and care that you deserve. At your first visit, we will take a thorough history including a reveiw of your past medical history, prior treatments, level of activity, and ultimately will discuss your goals for therapy.
We want you to understand your dysfunction. Together, we will review basic anatomy and concepts to help you better understand the root of your dysfunction.
During your session, we will discuss ways to adjust lifestyle and activity or teach you new postures, exercises, and self manual therapies to help you on your road to recovery. Having the tools and knowledge on how to help yourself is key and at Spring PT we will make this a priority.
We make payment & reimbursement easy for our patients. While we are out of network providers, we do provide patients with a superbill to submit to insurance companies for reimbursement. Our staff can walk you through everything you need to know about this simple process.
Each visit will last 60 minutes and be conducted one-on-one with an expert physical therapist.
This includes your first visit, during which a comprehensive evaluation will be completed, as well as all subsequent follow-up sessions.
At Spring Physical Therapy we specialize in female pelvic health conditions. We are now accepting new patients with any musculoskeletal pain, bowel, bladder, or sexual dysfunction, and those who are prenatal, pregnant or postpartum stage.
Your first session will be an initial examination. You will spend a portion of the time discussing your symptoms and health conditions with your PT. Based on the symptoms you are experiencing, a physical examination will be performed.
This may include assessment to check your posture, strength, flexibility, soft tissue, fascia, visceral mobility, breathing, balance, reflexes, and/or coordination. If appropriate and provided your consent, an external or internal physical exam of your pelvic floor may be performed as well.
At your first session, we will be able to create a treatment plan specific to you based on your symptoms.
You will likely attend therapy once a week regularly with reduced frequency of sessions as you being to heal and grow comfortable with your home exercise program.
Please feel free to wear clothing you are comfortable to move in as you may be performing stretches or exercise during your session.
Feel free to bring assistive devices, orthotics, or supports such as support belts or pregnancy or post partum that you may be using.
